Welcome to Lotus Heart Zen
Meditation and Study Group
This small social club gathers to meditate, explore different forms of meditation, and study the Buddha dharma and related philosophies while providing an open and affirming place where people can come together as a community that encourages a life of mindfulness, personal awakening, and helping others.
The Lotus Heart Zen Meditation and study group welcomes individuals from all backgrounds, all religions, all races, all genders, all sexual orientations, all walks of life, and all experience levels.

The purpose of this social club is to:
- Socialize, have fun, network, and form a group that we can learn from and grow with;
- Learn and practice meditation and mindfulness together;
- Read, enjoy Buddhist literature, and other related philosophies, and engage in thoughtful discussion;
- Cultivate compassion, kindness, attention, and gratitude within its members;
- Serve as an open forum for members to discuss selected literature, spiritual, philosophical, and social issues in a respectful, engaging, and thoughtful manner;
- Exchange ideas and communicate with others in an effort to better understand the books we read, as well as ourselves, and the world around us.
Our club is established on the foundation of ahiṃsā
(dynamic non-harming compassion):
Ahiṃsā Paramo Dharma
Ahiṃsā is the highest Dharma, Ahiṃsā is the highest self-control,
Ahiṃsā is the greatest gift, Ahiṃsā is the best practice,
Ahiṃsā is the highest sacrifice, Ahiṃsā is the finest strength,
Ahiṃsā is the greatest friend, Ahiṃsā is the greatest happiness,
Ahiṃsā is the highest truth, and Ahiṃsā is the greatest teaching.
